Lifting Update, School update, Fitness update.

Lifting Update:  
It's been awhile since I have updated this. Well a lot of things have happened. One of which is sadly I have had a minor set back with my Olympic Lifting. I tweaked my low back and my body has decided to stiffen up on me way more than usual. I have been working out at 24 hour fitness and been trying to stretch every chance I  get. 
School update: 
I have also been managing my school work a little better despite having a couple of crappy teachers that have not been so clear on what they have wanted us students to do on some assignments. But I digress,  things as a whole have been going smooth and work has been getting better with some additional hours that I have needed. 
Financial Update: I am also training a kid on the side to help him with his basic motor skills and that has been helping me generate some extra income. I am also trying to find time to turn in some of the recycling we have been stacking on the side of the house lol. I can't wait until the winter break so that I can start prepping for bigger and better things hopefully. 
Fitness Update: I am trying to keep the bad food at a minimum. And I am also trying to keep my weight under 200lbs for now. Biggest things I want to work on is my chest, lats, arms, and of course abs. I been taking some progress pics and and been seeing some good changes. But like they say abs are made in the kitchen. Hopefully things keep looking up and I keep the bad food at a minimum. I just need to find something I can stick with! Update you later!

I am bbaackkk! :D

Well I am finally on track I would say. Making sure I take proper watch of what I eat and things have been slowly getting better. I am looking a lot leaner and things have been moving well in my Training. It has been a hard road but I finally found a pretty good balance on things.
   School has been going well also, it has it ups and down but right now I am glad I have stuck with it this far. I am very close to having all my units I need to get rid of these petty Under Grad classes I am forced to take. The only thing I am worried about now Is getting my math classes out of the way. I will have to buckle down and make sure nothing gets in my way of getting those things done! Life will throw some obstacles in my way but I am sure I can handle them as long as I lower my shoulder and keep on running!

New things...

A lot of new things happening. Going to start a harder semester of college. Going to try and get more units and less hours of work. Its going to be tuff but I know I can do it with some changes. Going to have to make some sacrifice but it's going to be worth it in the end :). Noticing the little things In life can keep me happy as a clam. So I am going to keep those things around as long as I can. In the mean time I am going to try and keep up my body transformation. I have to keep talking about it so I won't be complacent about it. Been losing weight constantly and starting to see some abs take form. Slowly but surely I will achieve my goals!

day #54-57 Crazy Weekend!

I want to make this quick so I can catch up on must needed rest. To sum up the last couple of days It was very hectic and something I won't forget In a long time! I went to the bar for my second time but this time with all of my weightlifting buddies. It was so awesome because I never really had a guys night out. After a long night of drinking one of our friends almost got into a fight. But we quickly solved the situation by leaving. A part of me kinda wishes we did because that would have been a epic story to tell haha.

Anyways...with a full 4 hours or sleep I went on to play in a all day Volleyball Tournament. It was very fun since I have not played in a long time. But trust me... you do NOT want to play with little sleep and alcohol in your system lol.There was also drama and a bunch of stupid political crap and I basically got banned from playing In a division because I am "to good" lol. Thank you? I guess? Well my team ended up winning gold which was lucky for me because I was not able to play. It turned out to be one weekend I will NEVER forget :D.

Day #53 More Olympic Training!?!

So got a surprised today while I was going to get worked on my coach let me start working out on some technique. So I go back tomorrow and get to go heavier/ work on more technique. Hopefully this will get me to the level I need to be at in  the next couple of months. Once I have the energy and not so tired I will go back to some body building things at 24. Until then my legs are going to get huge and I am going to work on some more flexibility. I also need to edit some videos and post them on youtube. So that I can see my progress from now and the next couple of months! I can't wait to see the progress I will make in that time!

Day #52 Volleyball, Club, Bar!

So this week should be very interesting. It will start off with work as usual then going to have to deal with my old bank for screwing up and trying to make me pay a couple of 100 dollars for not closing my account properly. The best part about it is my sister is going to help me talk to them and she used to work for that same bank! Ha! Joke is on you! 
So another interesting turn of events is that I am going to be playing volleyball on Sunday for a Day! I love playing and hope we do well since it will be a different team! I met the main guy and he seemed pretty cool! So It should be fun! 
Also the fact that I am going to a bar with my friends from my Olympic Weightlifting Club should be fun also I just wish I didn't have to wake up super early the following day! I assume they are going to have me try a lot of different beer. I guess I need to explore my horizons a bit more. Either way It should be fun!

Day #50-51 Busy week College Planning!

So this weekend has been intense! I am looking forward to this semester mainly because I am getting closer and closer to getting my BA! This of course is a very small step, but at least it is something closer to what I would eventually want! I am shooting for better grades this semester and making sure I pass everything and also get better grades then I did last semester! Baby steps I say... I NEVER liked college but I am putting up with this chick until I am done getting what I need from her muahaha!

Day #49 Sick workout so tired lol.

Well we did another new workout. I ended up triple broad jumping 26 feet. Not to shabby :P, Jerk from the boxes I hit 115kg. And almost finished with a 85kg snatch but missed the second one. Also Cleaned pulled about 140 with a slightly rounded back. I need to get more back workouts In to keep me from breaking! All In all it was a great and tiring day!

Day #48 4th of july lame fireworks!

Just quick post. This fourth of July was not as good as the ones in the past. Maybe people around our neighborhood don't have as much money as last year? Possible... or maybe they went somewhere else? Who knows... maybe I have to plan something next year to make it a little more entertaining. Hope you had a great 4th!

Day #47 Body recovering! Woot!

Finally the body is adjusting! Hopefully I can make sure this won't happen again. My training should be consistent now and my technique can only get better! *Knocks on wood* I will resume my two a days hopefully this Saturday! Then things should be kicking into overdrive! No fast food yet so that is a plus so we will see if that continues and my portion control. I will gain some weight because of water retention but besides that hopefully my body composition will change for the better!

Day #46 3 Day challenge? Olympic Weightlifting!

So we are changing things up at the gym. It was snatching+ 3 attempts to try and get a vertical max. The best part was a two clean and jerk max, and then a Front squat max. It would have been better IF my body didn't feel like it was going to fall apart. I realized as I was working out my whole body felt as If I got hit by a car. But regardless of the aches and pain I tried my best to get close to my maxes. I finished with 105kg clean and jerk, 115kg Front squat. I love these "challenges" gives a bit more variety on things and freshens up the training and not make it so routine. Can't wait for next training session hope I feel better!

Day #43-45 Competition, Goals, Challenge!

Competition went pretty well. Considering I missed a couple of lifts, weird thing Is I felt a little tired because I think I didn't eat enough before hand. Oh well live and learn I suppose. New goals are to increase my lean body mass and get stronger. I NEED to have my numbers go up. My weight is fine and everything I just need to stay clean in my eating. Goals are to get my back squat up and keep my form and back strong. Those are huge in order to lift more efficiently.

Day #42 Two pounds down!

Could be water weight, or me just adjusting to the intake of food becoming less. Learning more about what it takes to lose the weight and staying on the right path is hard. But I am sure it will become easier in time. I learned that you don't have to kill yourself every day. You Just have to make sure you stay consistent and full. Everyone has a different mind set of these things mine is to keep myself sane. I will lose the weight eventually as long as I see some physical results I will be fine I think. Like I always say only time will truly tell If I am consistent or not.

Day #41 Competition on my mind!

Well I am trying to catch up on my sleep since today was a little more stressful then I needed it to be lol. I am so pumped up and ready to go! I can't wait to compete and feel that adrenaline rush when I step on the platform!  Regardless of the outcome I just want to get back to training already! With my better technique and strength there is only one way to go and it is up! I want to make sure I am healthy and ready to go every single day! Counting down the days! Here we go!

Day #40 Restricting calories! Lean up!!

Well It comes down to this lol again.. This time with some passion behind it! Will try harder this time and make it a mission to drop down In Body fat. I could maintain the weight I am now but I want to go down in body fat %. I will see what and how I can push my body and what I need to fuel It properly. Just need to see where I am at Friday because that is when I weigh in. Should be under 207 94.06kg who knows maybe it will help my lifting a bit. Only time will tell! Time to become  a lean mean fighting machine!

Day #39 The healthy route.. Again :O

Well starting in the morning I have to be eating majority healthier food. I am going to try and make this last as long as I can. Of course I will eat fast food from time to time. But I am going to try and start eating better and more dense food. Going to do more shopping and everything else of that nature :) Should be fun! Hopefully..lol maybe this will save me some food in the long run? Maybe not its all going to be trial and error! Here we go!

Day #38 Crazy week. Back to training! Eating healthier!

Well it has been a crazy week! Sleep deprived and training hard. Now I need to stop being lazy and get back to eating healthy. Will start again to slowly have better meals and everything else of that nature! And My lovely girlfriend will start eating healthy with me to so I don't have a excuse to eat bad lol. Will also start using my fitness pal and get things going with that also! Sounds like a plan... now I just have to stick with it!

Day #36 Recovery! Rested!

Today was kinda pain full. Lol note to self is to get worked on after a big tournament like that. So far we will see how bad it is with my lifting but either way it was worth it. The fun I had and the friends I made at the tournament was worth a couple of days of pain. No pain no glory right? Something along those lines I think... haha. So I am going to get worked on which is going to cost me about 10 bucks but it is worth it because I feel almost 95% better! Day #35 MVP! And 2nd place in our division!

Short and sweet this was such a fun tournament. I met alot of people and had alot of fun with everyone that was there. I was invited to other tournaments but I don't know if I can make one of them. But oh well I will start making it a habit to play volleyball At least once a week. Just to stay In even better shape. I ended up winning Silver and taking MVP of the division I was in. Thank goodness I left with something to show for all my time spent in. Oh well! There is always next time!

Day #33 Game Time!

Day #32 First time playing volleyball in 5 months.

Well today I played volleyball for the first time in months. It was as if I never stopped playing! It was such a great experience. So much fun and still have the hops I did and more in high school. Now I just have to prepare my body and make sure I don't fall apart in the next couple of days. I will do everything I can so I can keep lifting correctly.

Day #31 Training and recovery so far so good!

Two a days have so far been very beneficial for me! I been moderately sore and my lifts have not been effected by my out side training. Eating and recovery  have been good just got to keep up the pace and not drop off.

Day #29 Just relaxing

I actually took a day to relax and not be running around everywhere. So glad I get to stop and relax. Sometimes you need time to yourself  feels good. Next weekend is going to be crazy though. A lot of graduation parties I have to go to and also a 2 day volleyball Tournament hopefully I can get some money playing! Either way its going to be loads of fun!

Day #28 Common Sense In Training

Well today at the gym I was doing arms and triceps. I was kinda sore from last workout but still managed to move more weight then I did the previous arm workout. Which I am not going to lie was excited. But as I was doing the workout I wanted to squeeze in the last couple of reps but noticed my form was falling apart. So I had to check my self a bit and make sure I went back to form so I won't mess anything up. Just trying to keep some common sense in the gym that's all.

Day #27 Things looking up!

Things been looking better as they progress. Training has been alot better although I need to stretch a little more since I am tightening up a little bit. I also posted a video of my training and man it looks a lot smoother than my other videos. Hopefully I can say the same thing and even a little bit more as training gets better and I get stronger. Only time will tell I suppose going to hit the gym tomorrow and see how my body adapts to everything! Here we go!

Day #26 Recovery and more Recovery

Trying to find better ways to recover. Been stretching, and getting some good sleep in. But going to try and do Cold showers and warm showers. Going to suck but if it gives me a edge to recovery I am all for it. Maybe there is something else I can do but I will make sure I will keep looking for it. Need to make sure I am 100% for all of my training and my focus is on technique not on how sore I am or will be. I will see how I feel tomorrow goodnight!

Day #25 Training Workouts

Today was back to training as usual. It went pretty good considering I wasn't doing anything for a couple of days. I recorded my self and saw what I was doing wrong and corrected most of the issues. It was nice seeing that I have actually stopped some of the things I have been constantly doing for a couple of months. I am going to edit some of the footage I took And upload it so I can see where I am at a couple of months from now. I should see a big increase in technique and of course strength during this time!

Day #24 Back to Reality

Well I am back from Vegas and its back to reality alright.. Well I did bring back something from Vegas and it was a good 6 pounds. Lol Now I have to get back working out and eating regularly. Might Increase working out a bit also and see how my body adapts to it. Hopefully everything will work out in a positive way :D. I definately want to be more active during the summer. We will see the results in a couple of weeks!

Day #21 Vegas! Family! Vacation!

Today was amazing I had so much fun! It was great gambling and having fun with my family. I have really good luck on the slot machines I just have to be careful not to splurge it all at once! :D It was just so much fun having a relaxing time with my family and not worrying about anything for once lol. Tomorrow should be just as fun if not even better! Day #19 Summer time! :D

Finally I have a summer off of school! Its about time I get to have some sort of vacation! I can't wait to go swimming with all of my friends and have a great time! :D It is so cool how I have such great friends that are pratically drama free and are really cool to hang out with. I never really had time for that in high school since I was busy with sports and everything. This next week is going to be amazing! I can hardly wait!

Day #18 Getting back at it. Training Hard!

Thankfully I only tweaked my shoulder a little bit  so i decided to rest it up a bit before I started more of my body building routine again. Everything had been looking good so far in my Olympic Weightlifting training. I been adjusting my technique and correcting a lot of errors I have been missing over the past few months.  Now I can finally get back at training really hard like last time! I can't wait to get stronger and bigger in the upcoming months. Hopefully I can progress to the point I just have my technique down and preparing for bigger and better things!

Day #16 Fry's Electronics, and Android Programming!

Man I was running around all day today. Work and then busting a mission to go and see what Fry's Electronics have and it was HUGE! If I was looking for something to buy monitors a computer or to make  beast out of a existing computer that would be the place to go. It was a huge warehouse with countless of computer/ video game accessories. But it kinda looked a little shady because alot of their items looked slightly used and the floors models were not so "shiny" to say the least and some of them were not even working.

Finally on the Android Programming side of things, it has been a test of my patience. I finally got the right folder I needed and tools to make everything work. And I am finally downloading everything I need in order to start the 200 long video project to learn or get some experience with the Android Programming system. It looks promising I have to stay motivated and take some notes while I do this. It could be a learning experience or even something that progress and make it apart of my life. Only time will tell!

Day #15 Android Programming... Endless downloads lol

Well I started my tutorial on Android Programming... Only one thing.. I kinda messed up downloading all the necessary files I needed in order to make things work. Trial and error I suppose, but all things happen for a reason It should be really interesting to get started and start learning about how to compile things and what not. Who knows I might be really good at it lol. I have to eventually in order to get a good grade in my Advanced java programming class I need to transfer. It's going to be a summer project to finish a super small app I can actually have made! How cool will that be? Setting some goals for myself that  I need to achieve this year. Should be interesting.

Day #14 Resting, College, Summer, Break

Finally done with school, thankfully I get to have a actual summer break this year. I just need to figure out how I am going to schedule my next set of classes. Also I am going to see If I can see if I can have all my classes on two days. I rather have more time to do other things then have class every single day ya know? I don't know I have never done that before It all depends when I talk to the counselor.
But man I am really tired from my Olympic Weightlifting training. Getting used to these full upright squats take allot  out of me. Once my legs get used to this range of motion and I get more flexible I will get used to it. Going to work out and do my Bodybuilding workouts tomorrow morning hopefully I will be rested and get a good workout in. Summer is coming up so got to get more lean!

Day #13 Going to get a plan in Motion... College.

Well I am going to see a counselor tomorrow to see what is my game plan for this upcoming semester.  Worst case scenario is that I have to give up a day at work. It might hurt me financially but It should help me focus more in the long run. But at the end of the day I will not stop until I succeed not matter how long it will take. I know this will help me better my future in the long run. But its the least I can do to keep my future bright.

We will see where this puts me tomorrow it might get me down in the dumps a bit. But once I think about it I will be more motivated to try harder. I can also trim the fat on my expenses also lol. But like my dad said if there is a will there is a way! Here we go!

Day #12 Stock Market? Paper Trading?

For some reason I been very interested in the stock market ever since I was about 16. I thought it to be far out of my reach and only "rich" people were able to do such a thing. But boy was I wrong, I can always start small. Some stocks cost 10 cents also know as "penny stocks". Of course even if you made around 100% profit you might see a buck but hey its always a start. This is something I can possibly challenge myself at and figure things out for myself.

I am going to look into a paper trading website where you use "fake" money to try your hand at the stock market. Although there is much more than that to learn in order to make a buck but hey... it's a start.

Day #11 Podcast's a easy way to educate yourself...

"The Stuff you should know" Podcast is very interesting I love listening to podcast that make you think outside of the box. It is like having a conversation with someone you have never met before and makes you pay attention to everything they say to you.

I highly recommend you listening to any podcast that intrigues you. Which could be a food podcast, fitness podcast, or even history podcast. Anything that makes your brain work and gives you a new outlook and opens your mind to something you never really though about. Just thought I would share that with you :).

Day #10 No Motivation Left...

I am here sitting down and thinking I have to do a take home Final. Well a take home final seems easy right? WRONG.... In my opinion it is worse just like a online course. You put it off until the last final minute you need to do it. That is what  I am doing to be quite honest with you. I have no motivation for this class, never have since the beginning I will not go into great detail but my instructor is not as organized as I want her to be.

Either way I am going to suck it up and stop being a baby about it. There are worse things that can happen tomorrow should be a interesting day that I can finally put out of my brain forever... hopefully.

Day #9 Long Saturday Mentally and Physically...

So many things to do so little time. I need to study and finish things for finals week. I also have a take home final which you would think would be easy to do but that is not the case. It has so many distractions that you have to squash before they develop. I just want to be done with this crappy class. But hey I need to take this class again either way. But it can only benefit me in the long term.

Also having a two a day Olympic Weightlifting and then working out/ bodybuilding workouts. Hopefully I can have some weekend fun with my friends and girlfriend and I can relieve some much needed stress. Here is it the weekend! :D

Day #8 Holding Off for the Long run! Investing in phones...

Well I am sure whoever is into having a smart phone realizes what Verizon did today. They are trying to get everyone to sign onto a new contract that will get rid of "Unlimited Data Plans". But there IS some hope, as long as you don't sign a new contract and buy a phone NOT through Verizon you can keep your Unlimited plan.
     Sounds great right? WRONG.... because this means if you want a new phone you have to buy it at Retail price. Which now and days is around 600 dollars...oh yea that's a great deal. But in this day in age we have things like Ebay that can help us out with some decent phones and can save us money. For now I will stick with my Droid Bionic.. I mean ICS is supposed to come out soon anyways that will give me a even more options to mess with it even more! For now I am investing in my phone for at least a couple more years.... hopefully lol.

Day#7 Organized...kinda...now what?

Once I organized files, had more space, prepared certain folders for future use. I am nearly 75% organized I say this because the rest of the 15% are my cords where i get my Geek on. Still need somethings to become full organized like maybe some Zip ties or something along those lines to keep everything from getting entangled. 

Or labeling some cords or what not so i wont unplug something that is charging like my phone and get surprised that my battery is almost dead. I am going to look into a extension cord i can hook up my mac into one of my cheap monitors so I dont have to slump over it all day once I start working on Code. 

That reminds me.. I need to make some reminders to download some lessons and look over some coding tutorials. That will be very interesting to dive into I just wish there was more time in the day to do things that i really enjoy. 

Day#4 Schools almost out!

Day#6 Computer modules = fast PC!

When I was looking online for something to speed up my PC I found something. It was how easy it is to speed up you're computer. It takes about three minutes and depending on how fast you want things to run can cost you around 50 bucks.  What I also learned is that depending on what windows system you have, let's you have access to more ram! I have slot of saving up to do!

Day#3 Obama Supports Gay Marriage.

Day #2 Getting on Track Beach body! :o

Working on the "Muscle Head" Work outs. Although I have been advised to I understand the fact that I need this extra time to clear my head and help my self esteem. I going to start being a little narrow minded when it comes to my Olympic Weightlifting. What I mean by that Is be machine like, Don't over think things just analyze why this is happening and figure out how to correct it. My coach is amazing when it comes to it, although we butt heads sometimes he means the best. I want to become a National Champion and it will take hard work and determination. It starts with one step in the right direction, now I am going to work on my flexibility and stretch before I go to bed and prepare for tomorrow! Let's do it!

Day #1 The Home Stretch!

Well basically its the home stretch. Only 3 weeks of school left and its all finally coming to a end. A much deserved break from all of the chaos which is school and the stress that comes with it. Work is still a issue and adapting to the new changes and standards that have been set. But other than that things been getting back to normal. I finally get a small break from school *summer vacation for the first time in forever*. But  I am going to force my self to start educating my self into the field I want to eventually work in. Computer programming or anything involving computers. Hopefully its a goal I can accomplish, along with some of the fitness goals I have set out for me to do. Until next time.

Getting back to the swing of things...

Things might have been tough. But I have fought my way through all of it. Going back to a full work/school week. Trying to keep a positive head through all of it. Focusing on one thing at a time, school, working out, work, and anything else that gets in my way. And one of the hardest things to go back to is eating cleaner. No more crap in my system got to get back to normal and get back on the wagon. I am very thankful to be in a position where I can literally do anything. I just have to pick a road to go on and start walking. We will see how this week goes. It will end just as fast as it started.

Grieving Process...

After my Grandpa passed it was hard to deal with it for the first couple of days. Then I just tried to just stay strong for my family. I already paid my respects and said my Goodbye and had my closure. I feel good about that. But now that I am going to the funeral its going to be hard to stay strong. Seeing everyone so sad and the ones who stood the strongest crumble. My dad the emotionally strongest person I have ever met. I will see him break down emotionally. It takes a real man to stay strong when everyone is looking at them for hope and keeping everyone together. But when its a time of grieving... in the end everyone is only human.

Most heart wrenching thing I ever heard.

My grandpa just gave the most heart wrenching speech. He said "Thank you guys for coming.........I wish you all the world, ..........I love you all very much,............. hopefully I see you in the morning" .  Dam. That nearly killed me. No words could possibly describe how his words will be engraved into my brain.. it was like we were in a movie or something. It was insane. Your so strong grandpa hang in there!

Hang in there! How outside forces affect your training.

Sometimes life throws you curve balls. And then sometimes life takes your bat and tries to break your legs. Although I am a firm believer in leaving all your issues outside of the gym. Sometimes it just becomes to much.

        I found that out the hard way. When news came that my grandpa was not doing well. The strength that I used to have was taken from me. My confidence shot. My focus not on how well I was lifting but how my grandpa was doing. How his health is declining every day, how that when the few times he is awake  I smile at him instead of cry. So I decided to take the week off lifting, to focus on resting and my family. I feel that there is no use training when your heart and mind is somewhere else at the time. Focus on the things and people who are close to you. Because you never know when you might say your last goodbye.

Why I am used to overeating, bad habits as a kid.

Healthy eating has been a crazy journey for me. Its been mainly portion control and self control. Portion control because of how i was raised. It started when I was about 10 or so when I was carpooling with my family and some friends. Being the only boy in the back seat I had to essentially fend for myself. As weird as that sounds it was the truth with 4 kids who can eat a cow and then some I had to get as much food as I can quickly before it all ran out. The sense of "Urgency" of eating had me overeating and I assume that was stuck in my brain for a long time. Although I essentially grew and thinned out a bit during high school I never really cared about what i ate as much cause I would always burn it off. 

But as I am being less active I now know that portion control is HUGE and is very important habit to control. With controlling what i eat being more independent, it helps me keep aware of what i am taking in. Progress has been great and for that i am thankful. One huge tip for weight loss is COMMON SENSE!

Weighed myself after a week of dieting and eating no fast food. Or any "empty" calories, and WOW do I see a difference I went from 206 to this picture. Excuse my feet haha if you can't read the scale it is 203.8! So close to my 200 goal! :D

Day#3 Slightly fell off the wagon!

Breakfast 11:30 Had a really big breakfast burrito. It was a VERY bad choice to have. I can make up excuses all I want but still had the option to eat better. But Oh well nothing I can do now!

Snack 2:00 This baby is going to save me one day. And other snack I have throughout the day. Because If I dont snack then i will trick my self into eating something horrible! lol 

Mean 2: 3:40 One of the last slices I have of this thing. My meals need to switch up maybe I have to start shopping for my family lol

8:00 3 apples, 2 Pears, 1 Glass of Milk

Day #1 cold turkey

  Turkey sandwich, 5:30 this baby was Sooooo good! They sell a huge one at Vons for about 7 bucks or so! Its really good!

Snack: almonds and cranberries 7:00
In between this time I had a handful of almonds and cranberries.

This burrito was the healthiest I can get when I was hungry eating out. It was filled with Grilled chicken, beans. Plain simple and hopefully didn't destroy my eating good for that day. lol
I had around 1,700 calories that day assuming everything was around what i logged in. I also had a very intense workout which hopefully burns around 600 calories or so. But either way I am going in the direction I want to be going towards a better eating lifestyle!

On the road to eating better.

It helps to have someone on board with you. Especially when it comes to eating right. Need to eat more nuts, grains, And take in the proper carbs and portion control is really important. Some of the cooler things that I have been noticing is that my waist in my pants have been going down. But my legs have been getting bigger. So far my waist is 38/32. Maybe need to get longer pants but either way getting stronger. Now just need to correct some of my technique and I will go to Nationals next year.

Better training day, Snatches and Clean And Jerks.

Today was a great day for training although it was pouring out side. My back arch is getting better and I am no longer rounding my back on the catch *for the most part*. I just need to push a little bit longer on the Snatch and Cleans and it will look better. So far so good though as i am training for multiple Personal Records this next Competition. 100kg Snatch and 125kg Clean and Jerk. Only time will tell!

Lifting, Eating and Saving

Lifting has been going very well. Although i didn't hit any new Personal Records. I have been getting my technique better. That alone will give me more Pr's then brute strength. I am looking forward to this next cycle and improving my technique so it is perfect and that it is way more consistent. Eating habits have also been better. Eating cleaner and healthier and less fast food. Although I have ate some fast food during this time but not enough to make a serious impact on my weight.

Saving has also been better. Good thing that there is nothing really catching my eye to buy right now.. But there is one thing I would really want to get. It's the Nike Fuel Band. It just basically tracks your daily activity levels to see how active your are and how many calories you burn a day. Its really cool looking and I have enough for it so I am seriously thinking about getting it. We will see soon enough.

Day #13 Gaining Weight Isn't always bad!

Everything seems to be falling into place. Workouts have been very good, I feel stronger and I have been eating better. Now I Just have to compete at the level i am currently training at. Things are looking good and have been making some changes that have been making my technique better. The goal is to correct a majority of my technical flaws in a couple of months. If everything goes according to plan and my training is consistent my numbers should go through the roof!

Although many people associate gaining weight with something negative when you are training hard and eating right that shouldn't be the case. Always go by measurements and the lovely mirror. If you see rolls then stop eating them! If you don't then keep up the hard work! :D

Day #10 Competition week! New Pr's!

So Thinking about this week gets me pumped up. I have another chance to break some Personal Records. I am going to make sure i focus on technique and my goals instead of how much weight I might be able to move. But I goals are to be so much higher then what they are now. Going to Compete in next years University Nationals, By the end of this year hit a 110Kg Snatch and Clean 130. A Shorter term goal is to make sure My technique is near flawless every time i am training. Or else when will it ever get better? Logging things more often to stay consistent, now I need to make sure my Home Work and School activities have the same priorities.

Day #7 Dropped 3 pounds, Have strength, Setting goals!

Finally I see some numbers drop. Thankfully everything else is falling in place. Stretching has helped get my flexibility back on track. Thankfully it has not affected my lifting at all. The only thing that has taken me by surprise is slight carpel tunnel in my hand. Weird thing is it went away after i was done lifting ya.. like that helped me lol. I have noticed a increase in strength as well which is perfect as that is how the cycle I am in for my workout is set for. So hopefully everything else should go as planned. Hitting 100kg on the snatch and 125kg on the clean and jerk. Only time will tell how everything will connect or not.

Day#6 Muscle Gell Is amazing! Flexibility!

If your ever extremely sore, tight, or having muscle cramps. I recommend you using anything that can try and relax your muscles it does wonders with me. Always and i mean ALWAYS try to remain flexible that plays a huge part in high performance athletes. It will keep you healthy and maintain strength. Good luck!

Day #5 Stretching, Better technique, Strength.

Today was great to see if my outside training was affecting my lifts. Although I have been stretching and everything my lifts were not affected. I was also sore from my last training day which was on Saturday so that surprised me more. My Clean Technique is getting better but my catch is breaking which makes it harder to bounce out at the bottom. The strength is there but I have to fix that if I want to move more weight eventually.

Main Goals so far, Technique, Strength, and staying flexible throughout this process. Lets hope everything works out for the best!

Day #3 Rest, Refuel, Plan.

After feeling pretty good about my workout and cardio session Saturday, Now i need to make sure I keep it going throughout the week. As long as it is not effecting my training and or flexibility. Either way I have to make it a routine to stretch and make sure everything is loose and ready for my next training session. Although this is experimenting with a new workout I am hopeful it might give me great results in the future! All i need to do is make sure I keep accurate logs and re fuel my body and make sure i get enough good to keep my gains from going down! I am so pumped up for this!

Microsoft Credentials, Coaching Certification.

I looked up some Microsoft Credentials and they looked pretty interesting. some have to deal with Helping people with technical Problems with their computer so that looked cool. Others were just about how to maintain a database. Like making information travel through a main frame efficiently and things like that. I might have to look into this a little more and see what Certifications I need in order to snag a job in that field and see If I like it or not.

Another thing I have to look into is a certification in a Olympic Weightlifting/ personal trainer. It would look better and is kinda required for my job that I have now. So I think that will benefit me in the future regardless. Should be interesting the things that suck about these things I have to get is that they cost a lot of money. Got to spend money to make money i suppose!

More work hours, more school, more challenges.

I finally got what i wanted which is more work hours. But that just means I have to be even more focused when it comes to my school work. So far so good I actually started studying for the first time in my life haha. Comes with the territory i suppose. I am lucky to have classes i enjoy and are actually interested In I just hope to keep on this streak as long as possible!

I remember when i had my first beer...

That saying almost speaks for itself. Today for example.. when a someone in my family decides to have beer and all of a sudden gains confidence and decides to make a scene in front of my parents. (Literally over a piece of cake.) This is why i don't deal with these types of people. Because they act all tuff when they have a few beers in them. These people tend to have problems dealing with people when they are sober. I feel sorry for these people and they should seek some serious help.

On a liter note. I am alive, healthy, and not totally mentally disturbed. :D

High volume in Olympic weight lifting...

During this training cycle we are having much higher volume. Needless to say it is destroying everyone who is lifting. What I mean by that is it is taking everyone to finish longer. It's almost like doing cardio but in weightlifting format. I personally love it because it pushed me past a lot of limits and makes me focus even more on technique. To everyone out there doing high volume or high number of reps. Is it be careful and focus on technique or you will injure yourself. Good luck to those who are training!

Amazing Workout, And eating better.

Today was amazing this training cycle is going to kick my butt. But its making me such a better lifter. I am making the corrections and getting great feedback from my coach. He doesn't like telling me but he knows i have potential in this sport. Having him say that to me is the greatest compliment i can get from him.

Back to my dieting. I am eating better then i have in a couple of months. It feels great to do it and be conscious of what i am eating. I do not always eat the best but when i do i feel amazing. I am also trying to get my sleeping patterns back to normal because i have school coming up next week and that will be loads of fun! *sarcasm*

Patriots Going to the Superbowl! Woo!

Because that was such a great game i hope it can only get better! Can't wait to see how everything works out! Oh and the SOPA and PIPA bill was not passed! Week 4 updated stats. Lost almost 10 pounds!

I have been doing nothing different my exercise has been the same. Which is still pretty intense weightlifting. But i have been watching how many calories i have been taking in! With my fitnesspal i have been seeing what i have been eating and what sugars and carbs i need to loose weight. Of course this is just a estimate but this has got me down to the lowest i have weighed in over 5 months! I feel a lot better! I will get in more detail in my next post. Below are the stats so far!

Day one of No fast food...

So here we go.. that journey we all take during the New Year or when we look at ourselves and flinch at our reflection. No fast food for a month... and maybe a little more than that. Going to take a closer look at all of the calories i am taking and trying to keep everything under 2.5k or less. Going by my daily activities we will see how things go. If i do eat anything fast food since i am forced to then i will make sure i have extremely small portions.

Getting sick, Recovery, Motivation.

So i was fighting getting sick for about a good 5 days then it hit me on the weekend.. What a waste i know! So stayed home and tried to rest up and sleep most of it off as possibly. Now that was Saturday and Sunday felt crummy for about 85% of the day and now feel a lot better. Now thinking about some of the projects i want to take on that i been putting off for awhile.

Such as learning more about making Applications for the Android and Apple I phone. I think self teaching will help me stay motivated and keep me on the right course that can only help better my self in the future.

Working hard and taking one step at a time.

To be honest i didn't eat 100% healthy today. But i did get away with it because i worked out. And Going to run again tomorrow. After i rolled out my legs with my foam roller they felt a lot better! Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

Edit: Did lightly job/ speed walk for a mile and a half. Just to test the knees and see if it wasn't going to affect them. It didn't so maybe some sprints tomorrow?

Cardiovascular training

Well had a good talk with one of my friends who is very informative about training a athlete and training all together. Says it be a good idea to start getting in some cardio training  during the week. I mean it will take more work and dedication but i will think it will be a lot of fun pushing my limits and seeing how my body adapts. But we will see how this works and affects my lifting and my body weight.

Week updated stats...

Been eating slightly healthy. Trying to do a better job of that. Working out normally 3 times a week skipped one session, going back to regular routine tonight. Been logging in the weight i been doing trying to push my self a little more with proper form of course! For me that is more important then weight.

So far Stats goes as follows.
Week 1:Weight: 214
Week 2: Weight 210.5

So i am back to my normal weight i been consistently at. Will try to keep that at least below that. Will also do measurements next week. no point to do one every week lol.

Bring in the New Year with a Kiss! :D My lovely Girl Friend of over 4 years :) Had a great night with a lot of friends and family :) Was the Designated driver but still had one hell of a time! :D
